Descriptive Gazetteer Entry for STONEHOUSE AND NAILSWORTH RAILWAY

STONEHOUSE AND NAILSWORTH RAILWAY, a railway in Gloucester; from the Midland system at Stonehouse, 5¾ miles south-eastward to Nailsworth, with an extension from Dudbridge, 1¼ mile, to the Great Western at Stroud. The main line was authorized in 1863, and opened in 1867; and the extension was authorized in 1865.
