Strone, watering-place, Dunoon and Kilmun par., Argyllshire, at Strone Point (which projects between Loch Long and Holy Loch), 6 miles (by water) NW. of Greenock, pop. 295; P.O., T.O., 1 Bank; has a steam-boat pier. Strone forms part of the conjoint vil. of Blairmore and Strone; it is a quoad sacra par., constituted in 1884.
