HERRINGBY, a hamlet in Stokesby parish, Norfolk; on the river Bure, 5 miles WNW of Yarmouth. It formerly had an hospital, founded, in 1475, by Hugh Attefenne; it formerly also was a parish; and it still ranks as a rectory, annexed to the rectory of Stokesby, in the diocese of Norwich.
