Descriptive Gazetteer Entry for LANGWITH

LANGWITH, a township, with a village, in Norton-Cuckney parish, Notts; adjacent to Derbyshire, 6½ miles N of Mansfield. It has a post-office under Mansfield. Pop., 328. Houses, 60. Langwith Lodge was formerly an occasional seat of Earl Bathurst, and is now the residence of Major S. W. Welfitt. Some of the inhabitants are employed in neighbouring factories.
