Descriptive Gazetteer Entry for Tiptree Heath

Tiptree Heath, eccl. dist., Inworth, Messing, Tollesbury, Tolleshunt D'Arcy, Tolleshunt Knights, and Great Wigborough pars., Essex, 3½ miles E. of Witham, pop. 893; P.O., T.O.; a priory was founded here in time of Edward I.; the model farm of Mr Mechi (1802-1880), the agriculturalist, was at Tiptree Hall.
