Woolton (or Much Woolton), town and township, Childwall par., SW. Lancashire, 5 miles SE. of Liverpool, 795 ac., pop. 4541; P.O., T.O. Much Woolton is a local government district, and has a fine church, a mechanics institution, several schools, and numerous residences of Liverpool merchants.
