Stayley (or Staley), town and township, Mottram in Longden Dale par., Cheshire - township (partly within the municipal limits of Stalybridge and partly in town of Mossley), 2344 ac. (66 water), pop. 7363; town, on NE. side of Stalybridge, pop. 2674; is a local government district, has cotton mills, and shares in the trade of Stalybridge.
