Castleton.-- par. and township, N. Derbyshire, 10 miles NE. of Buxton, in the midst of the Peak scenery -- par., 9953 ac., pop. 985; township, 2910 ac., pop. 650; P.O., T.O.; has mfrs. of spar ornaments. Peak Castle, built by Wm. Peveril, is on summit of adjoining cliffs.
