Lune.-- river, Westmorland and Lancashire; rises near Ravenstonedale, Westmorland, and flows S. past Tebay, Kirkby Lonsdale, and Tunstall to Hornby, thence SW. past Caton and Lancaster to the Irish Sea 6 miles SW. of Lancaster; is 45 miles long, is navigable to Lancaster, and affords excellent salmon fishing.
