Notes

The Inner Temple and the Middle Temple were not included in the City of London Union, but by Orders of the Local Government Board, issued under the authority of Section 59 of the Valuation (Metropolis) Act, 1869, the Assessment Committee of that Union was required for the purposes of such Act, to act as the Assessment Committee for those places. The Inner Temple was listed in the January 1881 LGB Return, but not in the July.
