In 1887, John Bartholomew's Gazetteer of the British Isles described Pendennis like this:
Pendennis Point, promontory, S. coast of Cornwall, on N. side of Falmouth Bay, near Falmouth; is crowned by Pendennis Castle, a strongly fortified building, famous for its siege (1646) by the Parliamentary forces.
Pendennis is now part of CORNWALL Unitary Authority. Click here for graphs and data of how CORNWALL has changed over two centuries. For statistics about Pendennis itself, go to Statistics.
