In 1870-72, John Marius Wilson's Imperial Gazetteer of England and Wales described Gwredog like this:
GWREDOG, an extra-parochial chapelry in the district and county of Anglesey;-1¾ mile N W-of Llanerchymedd r. station, and 5½ S by W of Amlwch. Post town, Llanerchymedd, under Bangor. Acres, 936. Pop., 42. Houses, 5. The living is a vicarage, annexed to the vicarage of Llanerchymedd, in the diocese of Bangor.
