THURNSCOE, a parish in Doncaster district, W. R. Yorkshire; 2¼ miles NE of Darfield r. station. Post town, Swinton, under Rotherham. Acres, 1,665. Real property, £2,252. Pop., 196. Houses, 45. The manor belongs to the Rev. T. W. Simpson. The living is a rectory in the diocese of York. Value, £341.* Patron, Earl Fitzwilliam. The church was built in 1729. There are three alms houses.
