Craigend, an estate, with a mansion, in Strathblane parish, Stirlingshire, 3¼ miles N by W of Milngavie. The mansion, Craigend Castle, was built in 1812, and is a splendid edifice, standing amid fine grounds; its owner is the ex-diplomatist, the Right Hon. Sir Andrew Buchanan, G. C. B., of Dunburgh, Bart. (cr. 1878), who, torn in 1807, succeeded his father in 1860, and holds 883 acres in the shire, valued at £948 per annum.
