Cowden Castle, a mansion in Muckart parish, Perthshire, 2¼ miles ENE of Dollar. Occupying the site of an ancient fortalice, which belonged to the see of St Andrews, it is the seat of John Christie, Esq. (b. 1824; suc. 1859), who owns 1672 acres in the shire, valued at £1625 per annum.
