RESOLVEN, a chapelry in Lantwit-juxta-Neath parish, Glamorgan; on the river Neath, and on the Neath Valley railway, 7 miles N E of Neath. It has a station on the railway, and a post-office under Neath. Acres, 4, 560. Real property, £2, 726; of which £1, 500 are in mines. Pop. in 1851, 630; in 1861, 762. Houses, 146. The property is divided among a few. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Llandaff. Value, £70. Patron, the Marquis of Bute. The church is good.
