RINGWOOD, CHRISTCHURCH, AND BOURNEMOUTH RAILWAY, a railway in the S W of Hants; from a junction with the Southwestern at Ringwood, 7¾ miles southward to Christchurch, and thence 3½ miles west-south-westward to Bournemouth. The Christchurch portion was authorized in 1859, on a capital of £45,000 in shares, and £15,000 in loans; and was opened in Nov. 1862. The Bournemouth portion was authorized in 1863, on a capital of £30,000 in shares, and £10,000 in loans; and was to be opened in 1868.
