SHOTWICK-PARK, an extra-parochial tract in Great Boughton district, Cheshire; 4½ miles NW of Chester. Acres, 710. Real property, £1,134. Pop., 4. House, 1. A royal castle anciently stood here; was inhabited by Henry II., when on his way to Ireland; was visited twice by Edward I.; sank to ruin before the time of Henry VIII.; and is now represented by a large mound.
