Descriptive Gazetteer Entry for SUGWAS

SUGWAS, a seat in Herefordshire; on the river Wye, 3¾ miles W of Hereford. It was built in 1792; and it includes fragments of a palace of the Bishops of Hereford, which occupied its site.
