TAWE (The), a river of Brecon and Glamorgan; rising in Llyn-y-fan-fawr, in Brecon; and running about 36 miles, south-westward, past Capel-Celwen, Ystrad-gynglais, Cilybebyll, Trehannos, and Llansamlet, to Swansea bay at Swansea.
