Descriptive Gazetteer Entry for AMERDALE

AMERDALE, an upland vale in the parish of Arn cliffe, W. R. Yorkshire. The Skirfare rivulet runs along its bottom on a rocky bed; and, in dry seasons, alternately merges and reappears.
