Descriptive Gazetteer Entry for APPERLEY-BRIDGE

APPERLEY-BRIDGE, a village in the townships of Calverley-with-Farsley and Eccleshill, parish of Calverley, W. R. Yorkshire; on the river Aire, the Leeds and Liverpool canal, and the Leeds and Colne railway, 7¾ miles WNW of Leeds. It has a station on the railway, a post office under Leeds, and a large school of the sons of Methodist ministers; and it commands a fine view.
