Barns, a dismembered estate of the Burnett family in Manor parish, Peeblesshire. Theivy-clad Tower of Barns, on the Tweed, 4 miles WSW of Peebles, bears date 1498, and is still entire: the neighbouring mansion (1773) belongs now to the Earl of Wemyss.
