Descriptive Gazetteer Entry for EXETER AND EXMOUTH RAILWAY

EXETER AND EXMOUTH RAILWAY, a railway in Devon; from Exeter to Exmouth, with a branch to the Exeter canal. It was authorized in 1855, and opened in 1861. It connects with the South Devon; is 10¾ miles long; and has stations at Topsham, Woodbury-Road, and Lympston.
