Tuxford, small market town and par. with ry. sta., Notts, 6¾ miles S. of East Retford and 11¾ miles N. of Newark, 3000 ac., pop. 962; P.O., T.O., 2 Banks. Market-day, Monday. Tuxford stands in the midst of a very productive agricultural district, and carries on a considerable trade in hops.
