Redruth, market town and par. with ry. sta., Cornwall, 9 miles SW. of Truro and 18 NE. of Penzance, 4006 ac., pop. 9335; P.O., T.O., 4 Banks, 1 newspaper. Market-days, Tuesday and Friday. Redruth is in. the midst of a rich mineral district, and carries on an extensive trade in connection with the tin and copper mines in the neighbourhood. It is of very remote origin, and has Druidical remains.
