Rothwell, small town, par., and township, Northamptonshire, 4 miles NW. of Kettering - par., 4430 ac., pop. 2823; township, 3490 ac., pop. 2755; P.O., T.O. has mfrs. of shoes, and of silk plush for hats; Rothwell had anciently an Augustinian nunnery, founded by the Clare family.
