Youngs describes Harraton as having been abolished in 1937, part going to create North Lodge CP and "the part transferred to Tyne and Wear (including the part in Washington New Town) not to be in a parish." However, Table B in Part II of the 1931 Census County Report for Durham does not include Harraton among the parishes abolished by the County of Durham Review Order of 1937, and the 1951 Census County Report for Durham includes population statistics for Harraton.
