WALDINGFIELD (Great), a parish, with a village, in Sudbury district, Suffolk; 3¾ miles NE of Sudbury r. station. It has a post-office under Sudbury. Acres, 2,423. Real property, £4,634. Pop., 622. Houses, 146. The manor belongs to R. Rodwell, Esq. Babergh Hall is occupied by J. Bourne, Esq. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Ely. Value, £795.* Patron, Clare College, Cambridge. The church's chancel was restored in 1865. There is a national school.
