GROVE, a parish in East Retford district, Notts; 2½ miles SE of East Retford town and r. station. Posttown, Retford. Acres, 1, 287. Real property, £1, 445. Pop., 113. house, 21. The manor, with Grove Hall, belongs to G. H. Vernon, Esq. There are traces of a Roman camp. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Lincoln value, £220.* Patron, G. H. Vernon, Esq. The church is old, and has a small tower. Charities, £10.
