Silksworth, eccl. dist., township, and vil., Bishop Wearmouth par., Durham - dist., pop. 4691; township, 1994 ac., pop. 401; vil., 3½ miles S. of Sunderland; P.O., and P.O. at Silksworth Colliery, and P.O., T.O., at Silksworth Row; in vicinity is Silksworth Hall, seat.
