The Gumber  Sussex

In 1870-72, John Marius Wilson's Imperial Gazetteer of England and Wales described The Gumber like this:

GUMBER (THE), an extra-parochial tract in Chichester district, Sussex; 2 miles WNW of Arundel. Pop. 20.

The location is where "The Gumber" is marked on modern 1:25,000 maps, just to the north of Gumber Farm.
