The property is much subdivided. S. House is the residence of J. M. Sowerby, Esq.; and a prospect-tower is near it, commanding extensive views. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Lincoln. Value, £246.* Patron, Oriel College, Oxford. The church is good. There is a Wesleyan chapel.
