SWINCOMBE, or Swyncombe, a parish, with three hamlets, in Henley district, Oxford; among the Chiltern hills, 3 miles S of Watlington r. station. It has a post-office under Henley-on-Thames. Acres, 2,646. Real property, £3,320. Pop., 446. houses, 80. The manor belongs to the Rev.E. R. Keene. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Oxford. Value, £325.* Patron, the Lord Chancellor. The church was recently restored. There is a free school.
