Can I get copies of the statistical data?

A: If you study at or work for a UK university or school, there are two routes by which you can download copies of the data:

• You can download statistics covering particular locations using our own download system, via the Data access area of the site. This uses the Shibboleth system to log-in via your own institution.
• Much of our data is available for download from the UK Data Archive, at Essex University. Search their catalogue for "Great Britain Historical Database".

Unfortunately, the funding of both the UK Data Archive and the GB Historical Database limits our ability to assist users from outside the UK education sector. We are considering widening access to parts of our own download facility. Until then, we are happy to discuss proposals for academic or commercial collaborations. Contact us at gbhgis@port.ac.uk.
