Descriptive Gazetteer Entry for Bushyhill

Bushyhill, a village in Cambuslang parish, Lanarkshire, one of the cluster of villages popularly regarded as Cambuslang town, and situated near Cambuslang station, 4½ miles SE of Glasgow. It is inhabited chiefly by weavers, labourers, and small dealers, and has a public school, which, with accommodation for 278 children, had (1879) an average attendance of 278, and a grant of £239.
