Rotherfield, par. and vil. with ry. sta., Sussex - par. (containing Crowborough), 14,731ac., pop. 4334; vil., 8½ miles SW. of Tunbridge Wells by rail; P.O., T.O. Rotherfield Hall and Rotherfield House are seats, the former an ancient Tudor mansion; a monastery was founded here in 800.
